About Jing 
Jing Lu is an accounting PhD student in Haskayne School of business, University of Calgary, Canada. She has broad research interests in corporate social responsibility and sustainable development related topics. She holds a BEng in Software Engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University, China and a MBA in Finance from Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea. She was also a MBA visiting fellow in Sloan School of Business at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Now she is serving as the PhD cluster co-leader for the Canadian Business Ethics Research Network (CBERN).
PhD project
CSR Reporting in Developing Countries
Jing’s research focuses on corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting. She is interested in how policies and guidelines influence companies’ CSR and whether the quality of CSR reports could be a good indicator for future profitability. She is investigating the impacts of global standards on the CSR reporting performance in developing countries and the motivations to pursue high standard CSR in emerging markets.
